YOUR FIRST VISIT

YOU ARE JUST ONE CALL AWAY

What to Expect

Your first visit to visiting a doctor of Chiropractic will be similar in many ways to visiting a medical doctor.  You will be asked to complete an intake form and answer questions about your health history so the chiropractor can understand your overall health picture.  You can also fill the intake form on this website by clicking here [Link to form].

When you meet your Chiropractor you will be asked about the reason for your visit and a physical examination will be undertaken.  A variety of physical tests will be conducted to evaluate your problem and assist the chiropractor in making a diagnosis.  These tests may vary depending on the nature of your complaint / source of pain.

Physical tests include evaluating your range of motion, your posture joint mobility and reflexes as well as examining the areas of your body where you are feeling pain or restricted movement.  Your chiropractor will then explain the findings of the examination and provide a diagnosis.  In some cases additional tests such as x-rays may be required.  You may be referred for medical care if it is appropriate.  Your Chiropractor will recommend a treatment plan and treatment may start on the first visit.  Your informed consent to treatment will be obtained before care begins.

Your chiropractic experience may vary from the examples demonstrated in this video based on the protocols of individual clinics and your presenting complaint.
